Getting on the Move – Lose Unwanted Weight with a Proper Exercise Schedule

Keeping in mind the heavy schedule of a teenager today, it is quite difficult to keep to a healthy diet and combine that with a schedule of physical exercise. But if you want to lose weight (especially getting rid of that belly fat!) you must build yourself a schedule that you will respect. Sitting for long hours at school, then coming home and spending at least 2 hours in front of the TV and another 2 to three hours in front of your computer screen will only make those extra pounds accumulate.
Here are a few tips you must keep in mind:

  • In order to have strength for physical exercise you must eat well, a little bit of everything (carbohydrates, fats, less sugar and diary products to extract your Calcium)
  • You never have to overdo it. Exaggerating and forcing yourself into a heavy physical exercise will not help you at all.
  • Choose a proper type of physical exercise, and something that you also enjoy. You don’t have to spend 20 minutes every day on the treadmill if you do not enjoy that.

Build yourself a schedule where you will exercise for 45 minutes- 1 hour at the most/3 times per week. Choose the days accordingly, when your schedule is not that busy and you are not tired. As long as you keep to that schedule, you will slowly develop yourself a healthy program. You should not skip any “exercise day”, and although you will find it a little bit difficult in the beginning, after three weeks or so you will get used to it. One important thing to keep in mind is that physical exercise needs hydration. Any type of exercise that you choose, you must drink plenty of water afterward. This will help hydrate you properly, and also put back the important minerals that you loose during physical exercise. For example, choosing a type of mineral water that has a rich content of Calcium and Magnesium would be perfect.

You can start with an easy program, such as half an hour jogging every morning, or if you cannot do it then, in the afternoon. There are also several other sports such as volleyball, basketball, or tennis. For those of you who love water, swimming or water polo could be perfect. Water sports help you develop healthy bones and muscles, and you will lose weight constantly with little effort (as in the water you move much easier).

Then, you can combine any of these sports with biking tours. Whether you go on a tour with your friends around the block, or you go on a trip with your parents, biking is a very healthy sporting activity which will help you build a healthy muscle structure.

Ice skating or roller skating are some other options for those who enjoy them. Sports and physical exercise is about everything that has you on the move- climbing, running, swimming, playing chase with your dog, and so on. Remember that you can loose weight quite effortlessly if you pick a sporting activity that you enjoy very much.
