It is so much easier to give your teen some pocket money which will be very well spent at one of the tens or hundreds of fast foods available, than brown-bagging that snack for school. Teenagers on the other hand, are quite happy they can eat that ultra delicious hamburger with the fanciest sauce and a good portion of French fries every day. But just as every other action, fast-food eating has a reaction as well- and that is FAT which is unhealthily and quickly accumulating on your teen’s belly. You should never skip breakfast, because it is the most important meal of the day. That will give you the greatest part of the energy for the entire day. The breakfast should be very nutritious (containing proteins & calories- such as toast and eggs etc.). Never finish your breakfast without a good glass of natural orange juice in order to get your vitamins. If you truly want to lose weight, than you will take to school with you one healthy snack and fruits (especially apples). It will be a little difficult at the beginning to restrain yourself from eating that hamburger or hot dog, but in two weeks’ time you will notice that you got slender.

Rule number 1 that you have to keep in mind is that you don’t have to starve yourself in order to loose weight. This is a huge mistake, because if you don’t eat, sooner or later you are going to experience some severe health problems. The secret key to a healthy diet is to replace the bad food with the good food. Let’s see here a few examples:

  • Replace eating candy bars with eating one whole fruit. Whenever you feel it’s time for that Snickers, just eat one huge apple, banana or a bowl of cherries.
  • If you don’t like raw fruits, you definitely like milkshakes. These shakes have a secret as well: no sugar added. In one or two days you will get used to the taste of a healthy banana & milk shake that contains no sugar.
  • For your dinner in front of the TV or computer, remember to put on put on your tray two low-fat yogurts. You can have these plain, or you can choose fruit yogurts. You can add to it nuts and raisins for an extra delicious taste!
  • Stay away from mayonnaise – instead try out a delicious veggie salad on which you pour a low fat plain yogurt. This way, your salad will be delicious and nutritious. Try out such a Greek-style light salad for a change!
  • Loosing weight while giving your system all the important minerals – for calcium which is very important for the bones you should eat a lot of cheese, soymilk and low fat yogurts. In order to avoid iron deficiency, eat liver, spinach and shellfish.
