For Teenagers Only- Understanding the Weight Loss Process

If you are between 12 and 18 years old, and you feel that the pounds are literally growing on you, it is time to bring a change. First thing to keep in mind is that you are not allowed to starve yourself, because that will only bring about a lot of health complications and you don’t want that. Instead, make yourself a schedule where you will replace all those sweets and fast foods with healthy food – primarily fruits, vegetables, diary products and low-fat meat such as chicken and turkey. Diversity is the key for healthy weight loss, and of course you should combine all these with at least half an hour physical exercise every day. Gradually, you will get used to your new lifestyle, and you will see that the extra pounds will vanish and you will feel much better.
Give your system all the nutrition it needs

Candy bars and marshmallows contain bad type of calories. You still need calories for a healthy living, only you need to introduce in your diet the “good calories”:
- Eat plenty of nuts and raisins instead of candy bars that contain up to 500 calories
- Replace sugar with honey – in your tea, in your yogurt, in your favorite milkshake- honey contains good sugars that will not make you accumulate fat.
- Instead of fast food- eat plenty of healthy muesli bars that contain nuts and sesame seeds, pumpkin seeds or almonds
- Instead of white bread – eat with all your meals rye bread or whole wheat bread. You will soon get used to the delicious and healthy taste.
- Replace those fizzy drinks with one natural orange juice in the mornings and plenty of natural mineral waters during the day. If you want a little bit of extra taste too, you can buy mineral water that has a lemon or orange flavor.
- At least one huge bowl of salad made from raw vegetables, to which you can add one or two spoonfuls of yogurt- add tomatoes, radishes, cucumbers, peppers (green and red), lettuce, and on top of all add a squeeze of lemon and one spoon of olive oil. Delicious, nutritious and the healthiest.

You can still have your favorite cheeseburger…

No more than once a week. Actually, statistics show that people who are on a diet, but they are allowed to eat one day a week their favorite food (such as hamburgers, two candy bars, m&m’s, or a slice of pizza), will be even more motivated to keep to their diet. Just pick yourself one day of the week, when you take a break from your low calorie diet, and when you can indulge into eating whatever you would like. After a period, you will see that you are not even able to eat that much as you used to, and you will prefer to eat the foods that you are used to through your new diet.
